today is gonna be a good day.

You know those long awaited events that you count down every second until, anticipating the great excitement that will come, only to result in disappointment of just how unexciting it turned out to be
Well that was quite far from the case for me today.
After two long months of aim and gone over minutes, I finally got to see my boyfriend. J In the midst of my daily makeup routine, my grandma called my name from downstairs. Finishing my quick mascara application, I was halfway down the stair when my grandma told me someone was here to see me. The door was ajar, and my heart knew what was coming next as it skipped a beat. I was so incredibly happy to see his face, to have him in my presence, to kiss him. It just feels so surreal that he is here.

Sadly, it only lasted so long, as I am now off again on the train to my three classes of the day, but my incredible weekend will continue when I get back.

I was also quite lucky that I woke up with a good hair day and not a horrendous bird’s nest atop my head, as if it knew this surprise visit was coming.

Oh, and my costume got finished yesterday. Thank goodness it turned out to be a success.

it's time to move on

Temperley, Ralph Lauren, Alexander McQueen, Derek Lam & Collette Dinnigan.

Gareth Pugh, D&G, Burberry Prorsum, and John Galliano

I am head over heels for the versatility of these new military style jackets. Straight off the fall/ winter 2009 runway, they were quite key in many designer's lines. The variation of detail and accompanied outfits, I think, is what really gets to me with this piece. It's also a bit of fresh air from the redundance of leather and studs. The shape and fit to them is incredible.
I must say though, I found Gareth Pugh's collection to be quite eccentric, having a very futuristic feel. Far from practical, but a work of art, no doubt.

we all seem so untrue

I woke up today, in a bit of a boyish mood. I didn’t intend on that earning me the opinion from my grandma that I was dressed like Ellen Degeneres. From her standpoint, I’m not exactly sure if that was a good thing or not, but either way, I don’t mind. I’m an Ellen fan. I mean how much more awesome can you get than Ellen?

But then I thought again, maybe she meant that I was dressed to fit the stereotypical image of a lesbian.
After thinking that idea through though, I realized, how on earth does a sexual orientation look a certain way? I mean, it’s not like lesbian is a race of its own. For example, you can make the judgment, “hey, that person has Mexican characteristics,” but you can’t go and say, “Well that person certainly has the nose of a lesbian.” The same thing goes for gays. Just because a guy takes a certain interest in fashion and clothing doesn’t automatically mean that he is gay.

But hey, that’s just my opinion.

Since we’re on the topic of lesbians, I’m just going to throw out there that I cannot wait to get Tegan & Sara’s new album, Sainthood! They are incredible. I love how despite the opinion of others, they stay true to themselves. In an interview, they mentioned how they had showed up to a photo shoot on time, only to find that they had expected them to wear dresses, of all things, dresses. That was a failure on the stylist’s part, as they refused to go near the dresses because it wasn’t them at all. Why would you want them to represent something they are not anyway? I personally find their personal style to be very appealing.

too much horror business driving late at night

so halloween's coming up and i am in desparate need of a costume, a costume that isn't showing as much skin as possible that is. and that is very difficult to come by. plus, buying it takes all the fun out of it.
so i did these sketches yesterday. i'm debating between the two, though i think i'm leaning more toward the first one.

oh, and by the way, the first sketch is inspired by the doll factory maze at knott's halloween haunt.

the chick just really freaked me out. here is something so you get the idea:

stop lying.

it's no good.
but for some reason, i keep making my best attempt to lie to myself.

i fell apart today and realized,
it's not working out too well.
