I am so excited! Tomorrow I will be off to LA with the lovely Olivia, first with a stop for breakfast, then the Reggae Festival at UCLA that goes from 12-7. Little Dragon, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, and Quadron once again--definitely a line up I'm looking forward to! Oh and earlier today I went with Luis and bought my ticket, (or card or whatever form they make them in now), for Hard Summer Festival which is in August. I'm ecstatic about that! Chromeo! Woooo.
Any music festivals, shows, or concerts you lovelies are looking forward to this Summer? ♥

Finally! Summer is officially here as I finished up my last final this morning. Of course, summer classes will be starting up in a few weeks, but honestly, I won't even be bothering my head to think about that until the day of!
Today was actually the first time I've truly done my hair in a such a long time! I had time for once after my psychology final earlier in the morning, so I figured why not go all out with a retro hairstyle and victory rolls. I already had the the 50s style dress going on so it felt more than suitable. It's honestly the best I've ever done it thanks to Diary of a Vintage Girl's little tutorial which was ultra helpful! Unfortunately my little digital camera did not do this hairstyle justice, but regardless, I was pretty proud of myself. I added my gorgeous Danys just to update the look a bit. ♥
I'm having a bit of an urge to make myself some cookies just as a sort of pat on the back to myself for finishing strong with my classes. Thanks to all of you who wished me good luck!
I have some sunflowers sitting at my desk and a lovely breeze lifting every spirit hidden in my curtains, but here I am, at work with drafts, note cards, and books at hand. I promise things will be back on the regular start next week! In the meantime, this song has been getting me through this wretched paper that I am truly determined to get an A on.
I just can't wait for Summer! And to get back to having the time to read all your lovely blogs of course!
Hello everyone! Excuse my horrid blogging habits. There's been so much going on! Good and bad, hence the post title. Papers due, finals coming up, MY CAR BREAKING DOWN. Yes, unfortunately, though I knew it would happen eventually, it happened much sooner than I thought it would.
BUT, things were made significantly better because I got to see my wonderful friend, Brenda, since she's back from Cornell for the summer. It had been far too long! We headed over to the Gypsy Den for lunch because that used to be "our thing" and did a whole lot of catching up. And some feasting on a bomb quesadilla to accompany the much needed catching up! I definitely missed her company! We're already starting on a bucket list full of things to do for the summer! Also, excuse my excessive use of exclamation points, I'm just that excited!
How I could be so ecstatic when there's so many things that should be stressing me out at the moment, I'm not quite sure. I suppose the smallest things really just make me happy. For example this new mint green nail polish I picked up from Urban Outfitters today. That made me quite happy. haha
You know what else makes me happy? This skirt. It's vibrant colors put me in such a good mood and I have to mention that these long skirts have to be just about the most comfortable thing ever! And equally pretty, I don't know why it never occurred to me to wear them before. Actually, no I'd be lying if I said that. Freshman year of high school I was obsessed with all those super long boho skirts. Only one in the school of course, but I guess you can say I've always enjoyed my individuality. Plus they covered up the horrible mess of bandages and gauze around my leg for a couple months. Definitely a plus.
And here's just a few photos I took earlier in the day at The Lab and The Camp in Costa Mesa. The decorating is truly inspiring! Definitely going to take up some of these ideas for when I'm putting together my own place.
Hello lovelies, I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! I've been lagging a lot recently with the blog. Ever since that one day where blogger was down, I was a bit discouraged. Especially since blogger completely erased a post I had taken tons of time to work on! Maybe I'll redo it, maybe I won't. In the meantime, here's an awkward picture of me done as a medicore outfit picture. We all know I'm incapable of taking a picture that isn't the slightest bit awkward though.
I don't know if you guys ever wondered what the deal was with the Illuminati sign I've had chilling in my sidebar for a while, but since I just got this shirt, which I LOVE, I figured I'd do a bit of explaining. If you hadn't stopped by and clicked on it, it's actually a link to the website, nahtajoke.com. They're an Orange County based brand with a variety of unique t-shirts and other such clothing designs. And honestly, I know I don't use my California slang often at all on my blog, but their stuff gets down! Definitely take some time to check out their online store here.
I just got through scanning all my prints to my laptop and I think I'm far too excited! I picked them up straight after class today and thought I would share a few with you. They were taken using my Ricoh-af-40, a.k.a. my Baby Ricoh, and this was my first roll with it, so I was so scared they wouldn't come out!
That was the least of my worries today as I was rushing this morning to get a paper done for my 8 am class. Of course, it turns out he's not making it due until Monday. Silly me.
Now I'm just finishing up some studying for my psych exam tomorrow then off to LA I go. Going to see Robert Francis tonight! I've been in much need of some live music so I'm ecstatic at the moment!
Yesterday was quite some fun, you know, before I had to get to work at 3 and then tackle some homework once I got home again. I took a trip to the IVC flea market in the morning, which I had been waiting to go to since I missed it last month! There's a whole lot of just antiques in general, old radios, vintage cameras and some clothes, and plenty of jewelry!
I actually ended up going home with a few things as well! This lovely locket was my favorite! I also picked up a little green pear pendant for my cousin and the perfect sweater which you can see lying on my bed beside me. It was just far too hot to wear it past the early morning!
Oh, but it was so hot and sunny out! I shouldn't be complaining, I'm glad the weather is warming up. I'm also glad I had decided to throw on a DIY cropped band t tank that morning or else I definitely would have overheated! I did end up with this awful sunburn on my shoulders though. It's quite noticeable in that last photo. Argh, oh well, this just gives me an excuse to head out to the beach soon and even out my horrid shoulder tan.

Hope you all are starting off your week well! ♥

I'm obsessed. Thoroughly obsessed. Bettie was always such a doll. It's a slight, guilty dream of mine to have a vintage, pin up photoshoot dolled up a la Bettie Page one day. The more cutesy ones of course.
To add to that, vintage and vintage inspired lingerie is just amazing. I've been crushing on The Loved One's pieces like crazy!
